To those who love earrings…

I admit, I am in love with earrings, most especially dangling earrings. The way earrings frame a persons’ face, accentuating both the face - eyes, mouth, make-up, and hair of a lady. Earrings can either be subtle accessories, worn just for the heck of it. But they can also be used to accesorize one’s outfit as well.
But one thing has always escaped me, an interesting place to put the earrings I’ve collected. It’s hard to find a decent storage space for so many dangling things, for fear that it may fall unto unknown places, or lose one of its many decorated charms. But I’ve finally found the perfect thing to place my earrings in.

Episode Two of Mad Mad Fun turned out to be another starting success. Featuring Ateneo’s own budding artist and famous photographer, Tricia Gosingtian - who was also featured in one of my previous articles. Tricia spoke without hesitation nor fear as she continued with the video interview on primetime television. Even the added plug-in of her much visited website was an icing at the end of a wonderful interview. Congratulations to another Atenean kawaii girl.
Stress, how to surive it.
August 14, 2007 at 1:20 am (Being a teenager, Life Realizations, School)
Stress has been a part of every persons’ life. In the life of this Ateneo student, stress is a normal part of everyday life, and life without this integral part makes one feel lacking. Life with stress is just plain stressful, worrying about big things and little things that may or may not matter. But life without stress is just as stressful and worrisome because it makes a person feel as if they’re bumming and not doing something to help their future or society.
For what reason do people stress in the first place? Doesn’t it serve to make a person seem older than they really are? Perfect examples are those stress tab commercials one can see on Philippine television that show a young working adult who looks over 30 due to stress, when she is in fact below 30 years old. Does everyone yearn to be someone like that, getting wrinkles and pimples and stress marks, with dark eyebags and pale skin that eventually lead to people dying - possibly of over stress which will cause heart attacks? Stress just ultimately leads to a shorter life.
Long gone are the childhood days spent playing with dolls and worrying over simple things such as getting the most updated pencilbox with the latest designs, or having busy weekends spent at a popular friends’ house playing video games or bahay-bahayan (playing house). It seems decades ago when childhood memories were spent worrying only about childhood worries. Who knew that becoming older would lead to more stress, resulting from worrying over one’s future - getting into a good college, surviving college and eventually getting a good job.
Stress is something that none of us can escape. It eventually appears one way or another, may it be school related, future related, or whatever. Here are some random tips on surviving the random things that stress may bring…

Motherhood
August 9, 2007 at 4:39 am (Childbirth, Children, Family Issues, Life Realizations, Motherhood)
Is it odd to have wished to be a mother at such a young age? I wasn’t even a pre-teen when I first had notions of wanting to someday become a mother. For some reason there have been many a time when I would watch movies and wish that I myself was the mother portrayed in the movie.
At a young age, my mom had told me that I always had a motherly instinct inborn in me. Even if I fought with my siblings a lot when I was a kid, even throwing tantrums and admittedly semi-bullying them, when they’d be asleep and I was much calmer, my mother caught me always tucking my siblings in or carrying them to bed. Until my brothers were too big too be carried to bed, I was always the one tucking them in to bed and pulling the blankets over them when they’d kick it off in their sleep.
Even so, I never waned in my desire to become someday become a wife and most especially a mother. Being one of the eldest in my family, I’ve had many a liberty taking care of my younger siblings, cousins, and nieces/nephews. Up until now, I still adore playing with my nieces and nephews especially being their babysitter during family parties, by being the one who keeps them amused and quiet.
All that’s left is still the adamant fear of childbirth. Since childhood, there was never a doubt that I wanted to be a mother, and even entertaining the notion of becoming a nun was something that I didn’t want to think of. But still, being a mother is different from the whole point of giving birth to a baby. The pain that could be inflicted from carrying a baby for 9 months, the morning sickness and up to the labour itself. It’s still one of the greatest fears that I have towards becoming a mother, most especially the unusual occasion that one could die from childbirth. I actually asked my mother about it, and she said that the pain endured during childbirth is nothing compared to the joys of finally seeing your baby after birth. Looking at it, it must be very difficult for mothers who give birth to stillborns.
Still, adoption is always an option. Though of course, one’s husband would want their children to of course be someone of their own blood (unless the mother is incapable of giving birth or having children). I doubt though that I am someone capable of being infertile, there are supposedly ways to foretell if you fertile or not.
MAD MAD FUN: Episode One Review, Episode Two plug in
August 8, 2007 at 2:05 am (Anime, Cosplay, Fashion, Music, Reviews, Technology)
From points of views of viewers familiar with Alodia “Edjie” Gosiengfiao when she was aired on the first ever episode of Mad Mad Fun as their Kawaii Girl, the shows seems to have come out as a starting success. Though there are still points that can be greatly improved on - Rhian Ramos had some odd moments, but there is of course leeway for the first few episodes - most of the show came out well. I had some misgivings about the entire “torture the band” part of the show. I don’t know if the point of that show was suppose to be humorous, because I honestly didn’t find it amusing. From the way the band faked their torture, to the way the lightning shocks came out, it was actually annoying to watch them continue with the facade. Blame me if I didn’t find it even slightly amusing.
