Bloggers at Nestle Pop unveiling

Last Thursday, June 26, invited bloggers and their family came together at the Nestle Factory along Aurora Boulevard to share in a sumptuous dinner presented by Nestle. The event marked the presentation of one of Nestle’s new products, the Nestle Pop. After dinner and a quick powerpoint presentation from Nestle, the hosts unveiled their new products and handed each of the bloggers’ table, their Nestle Pop freebies.

All I can say is, it’s delicious! Nestle Pop comes in the “kisses”-shape and are filled with vanilla ice cream goodness. If you’re curious at to what they taste like, I can say that they taste somewhat like Pinipig but even better. I highly recommend you go to your nearest supermarket or mercury drug to purchase these if you can.

After the unveiling of the product, that didn’t signify the end of the event. Of course, Nestle presented some activities as well. Members of Nestle went to the front and began dancing to the amusement of the bloggers and their families. As well, Nestle also presented their new game, Get your pop on, which is a very amusing game which involves popping the products into the mouths of “rock artists”. Don’t understand what I’m talking about, just click the link to find out what I’m talking about.

During the event, the blogger with the highest score was awarded with a lomo camera. Sadly it wasn’t my mother, so we didn’t win the lomo camera. But, those who scored within the top 5 were also awarded Nestle gift certificates. Sadly, my mom didn’t make it to the top 5 either. Haha. But oh well. All bloggers and their families left with free Nestle Pop products to bring home and share.

Where art my love? ©toki88

Such a story is a paramour of my dreams,
and will true love be never mine to hold.
Shall it remain forever a dream
or shall I see it opened before me
like a chest of gold yearned by all
and simply mine.
For I desire my own true love,
not that of others who hath their own wishes
because I, selfish thus
for that which is rightfully mine -
my own deserving true happiness.
I neither wish to take which isn’t mine
but to find what was fated to be
meant only for me.
Can I seek to find only my own true love?
Finding not those whose hearts I may break
or to find those who might break mine own.
For there may only be me
and there shalt just be him.
Him whom I desire most of all
above everyone else, him, who is love,
the embodiment of my heart and
the yearning of my soul.
Where art thou?

Book Review: The Devil Wears Prada

Devil Wears Prada book

Review on: The Devil Wears Prada

Rating: 4.5/5

It was a very beautiful book, a far cry from the plot of the movie version. It was chic, fashionable and gave a very good insight on how people in New York, or in the fashion industry might be living. Aside from that, the book was great because it gave very detailed details on even the small things, such as clothes or venues or events that took place in the story.

Just fantastic!

I think that the only problem with the book is that due to the meticulous detail given to explaining everything, some parts of the book can get a tad bit boring, especially if all that’s being talked about are simply explanations to very simple matters within the story. Also, if one is not familiar with some fashion terms, there may be some difficulty in understanding what the author is talking about.

Also, despite the fact that there are similarities between that and the movie version, there are a lot more differences than there are similarities. The movie of course had it’s visual pros as compared to the book, because you can see how beautiful and astonishing the fashion world really is. Yet, I would much rather prefer the book because it gave the viewer a more in-depth look into the fashion world that the main character was living in, and it gave a much more detailed explanation without leaving the reader hanging.

Of course as in all movie adaptations, there are many things that have to be cropped out to save on money and time. This is why I usually prefer reading the books first before I watch the movie. And the reason why I usually prefer the book to the movie adaptations.

It was great being a kid. Why did we ever want to be an adult?

You know, growing old is one of the hardest things some people have to face. For me, it’s one of the things I dread the most. But it’s funny how everyone starts out getting all excited about growing up, even questioning the fact that Peter Pan doesn’t want to grow up. Suddenly those teenage years start and everyone’s hyping on finally getting into a PG-13 movie without parental supervision, or going out to parties with a later curfew, staying overnight at a friend’s house, and taking that first swing at an alcoholic beverage. But the excitement doesn’t last, and you find yourself regretting that you made yourself grow up too fast and that you didn’t spend your years acting as much as a kid (without much consequence) as you could.

Here I stand now, 4-5months from celebrating another birthday, and not just a simple birthday at that. It’s the big 2-0..the first year out of teenage-hood. Nothing physically changes of course as a person crosses that day from being 19 to turning 20. But deep inside, it feels really different, or it would probably feel different - not that I know it would be different, I haven’t crossed that line yet.

I’ve called myself an “oldie” these couple of months, only to be laughed at by the parents and relatives who are years and years older than me. This has in some way made me feel a bit better, knowing I’m not the only one suffering from this so-called disease. But one recent event has made me come to the realization that I’m only about 20 weeks away from leaving my teenage years…Click5 concert.
